A company is usually brought to life by the vision and talents of one person. This individual, the entrepreneur, is the heart and soul of the free enterprise system. It is through this person's energy, leadership and wisdom that the company matures and thrives in its market.

The founding of United Displaycraft is such a story. It was initially founded as United Wire Craft in 1953 by Richard M Carrigan, an entrepreneur who recognized the need in the point-of-purchase industry for quality wire and metal components.

As the display industry called for expanded contributions from its suppliers, United Wire Craft met this new challenge by providing full services from design and engineering through manufacturing and distribution. Then, focusing on the objective of more effective display merchandising, United Wire Craft added in-house creative and engineering personnel capable of producing merchandising concepts and displays of virtually every material and process. This diversification led to the changing of a respected 30-year-old name to United Displaycraft in 1983. In 1986, the company was taken over by the son of its founder, Richard M. Carrigan, Jr. ("Sandy") who directed many of the diversification changes since his joining the company in 1968. Sandy continues at the head of United Displaycraft today.

Dramatic growth led United Displaycraft to expand to a new 225,000 sq. foot suburban-Chicago facility in 1997, offering twice the square footage, a significant increase of storage, efficient work flow, a new powder-coating line, and added distribution capabilities.

As we look toward the future, existing facilities will allow for plant and office expansion as client need continues to grow. Our philosophy is to continually adapt our work place to grow in such a way so as to provide satisfaction to our clients and their marketing efforts, while at the same time providing our employees with a positive work environment that allows them to reach their full potential.
